American Orthopsychiatric Association's 76th Annual Meeting,
April 9-11, 1999
Carl C. Bell, MD, former AACP Board member, is to deliver the
21st Blanche F. Ittleson Award lecture at the American
Orthopyshicatric Association's 76th Annual Meeting in
Arlington, VA April 9-11, 1999. The Ittleson award is given to
a researcher/thinker/writer for a lifetime contribution to
mental health. Dr. Bell's talk will be keynote for the
three-day meeting which will focus on the understanding and
prevention of violence and intervention with its victims.
Ortho's president, Ira S. Lourie, MD will introduce Dr. Bell
and present the award. Other speakers of note include Bruce
D. Perry, MD, Ph.D., Civitas Texas Children's Hospital, on
the neurobiology of violence and Lisbeth Schorr, author of
Common Purpose: Strengthening Families and Neighborhoods
to Rebuild America.
